MSc Information Systems Management, TU Berlin
Linus Gustafsson
Distributed systems and health data.
I am a master's student at TU Berlin, working on scalable software systems and medical informatics. Two years as a student researcher, a few publications, and most of my time spent on the backend side of research prototypes.

Technologies
What I work with
One at a time, as you scroll

01/ 10
Apache Kafka
Carries the sensor data through the wearable analytics framework. I used Kafka Streams for the stateful processing.

02/ 10
Kubernetes
Runs that platform. The ingestion path scales with the number of connected devices instead of the size of the machine.
03/ 10
Helm
Packages those deployments, so a full environment can be brought up, torn down and reproduced from one chart.
04/ 10
Docker
Most of my research prototypes start out as a compose file and stay containerised from there.
05/ 10
pandas
Cleaning and reshaping measurement data, usually on the way to a plot.
06/ 10
DuckDB
Analytical queries over result files that have grown too large for a dataframe but do not need a server.
07/ 10
PostgreSQL
Relational storage for anything structured enough to deserve a schema.
08/ 10
Terraform
Provisioning infrastructure on AWS and Google Cloud, written down rather than clicked together.
09/ 10
Linux
My daily driver, and I administer the VPS this site is served from.

10/ 10
LaTeX
Every paper I have worked on was written in it.
